Law Group Ltd. - Attorney Biography

One of the keys to success for The Law Group is qualified, effective and efficient firm administration. Beth Reynolds has filled this role since December, 1987. Beth came to the firm in June, 1977, after her graduation from Patricia Stevens College in St. Louis, Missouri. She supervises all administrative matters for the firm, including management reports, personnel, timekeeping, permanent client history data, billing, supplies, payroll, and accounting.

A graduate from Farina LaGrove High School, Beth and her husband, Paul, live in St. Peter. They have two sons, Kristofer and Scott, and three grandchildren, Zada, Zander and Andrew.

Gena Carter has been with The Law Group since October, 1979. Mrs. Carter is responsible for preparing litigation documents including complaints, answers to interrogatories, notices and judgments of the Court. Gena also prepares foreclosure documents, motions in criminal cases, appellate briefs, and jury instructions. Gena is also responsible for preparation of various domestic relations documentation such as petitions for dissolution of marriage, marital settlement agreements, judgments for dissolution of marriage and petitions for order of protection.

Gena graduated from Ramsey High School. She and her husband, Gordon, have two sons, Adam and Andrew. The Carters live in Ramsey, Illinois.

Linda Shurtz has been employed by the firm since July, 1994. Linda is responsible for maintaining the corporate records for The Law Group's corporate clientele. Linda prepares corporate documents, such as articles of incorporation, annual meeting minutes, employment contracts, leases, warranty deeds, and stock certificates. Linda also prepares documentation filed with the Secretary of State and Internal Revenue Service.

Linda graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School. She resides in Vandalia with her husband, Shelby. They have two sons, Ryan and Chad, and two grandchildren, Roslin and Jonathan. Linda enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.

Mary Shellabarger joined The Law Group in August of 1999. Mary prepares documents relating to litigation, including pleadings, motions and notices. Mary is involved in debt restructures and liquidations, and prepares schedules and documents relating to these matters. She is responsible for preparing real estate documents such as deeds and contracts.

Mary is a Ramsey High School graduate, and holds an Associates Degree in Legal Secretary from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois. Mary resides in Vandalia with her husband, Terry.

Kyra Willenborg joined The Law Group in May of 2001. Kyra prepares motions, jury instructions, and settlement brochures for personal injury and workers' compensation cases. Ms. Willenborg is also responsible for preparation of marital dissolution and child custody documents such as petitions, marital settlement agreements, judgments and orders of protection. Kyra is the staff member in charge of collections for the firm.

Kyra was born in Vandalia and raised in St. Elmo, having graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1991. After receiving an Associate's Degree in Agricultural Business from Lakeland College, Ms. Willenborg graduated from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 2001 with a Bachelor's in General Agriculture Information. Kyra currently resides in rural Vandalia with her husband, Brian, and their son, Brock.

Debra Robinson joined the firm in July of 2001, bringing over twenty years of legal secretarial experience to the Law Group. At the Law Group, Debra is responsible for preparing estate planning documents, including wills, codicils, and trusts. Ms. Robinson also prepares contracts and related documents, and is responsible for documents relating to probate, including petitions, notices, and inventories.

Debra was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and graduated from Titusville (Florida) High School in 1971. In 1989, she received an Associate Degree from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois. She currently resides in Vernon, Illinois, with her husband, Jim.

Jill Mouser joined The Law Group in September of 2010. At The Law Group Jill helps in billing, prepares Title Commitments, prepares corporate documents for the Secretary of State, researches titles, prepares documents for real estate, and works with Fayette Water Company in preparation of easements.

Jill graduated from East Alton Wood River High School and John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL. She currently resides in Vandalia with her husband, Jason, and three children, Gavin, Jillian and Taylor.

Megan joined The Law Group, Ltd. in October, 2011. She prepares contracts, deeds, title commitments, and policies for real estate transactions. She also performs title searches and handles real estate closings out of the Effingham office.

Megan received her Bachelor’s degree in Technical Resource Management in Land Surveying at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 2007. Prior to that, she earned an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Lake Land College. She currently resides in rural Teutopolis with her husband, Jason, and their two daughters, Lily and June..

Courtney joined the firm on June 20, 2012. Courtney assists with the preparation of real estate and estate planning documents. She also aides in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns for filing with the State and the IRS.

Courtney was raised in Farina, Illinois and graduated from South Central High School. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Education from Eastern Illinois University in 2011. Courtney resides in Farina..

Angie joined The Law Group on December 26, 2012. Angie assists with the administration of the firm. She also provides back-up legal secretarial services when the need arises.

Angie is a native of Ramsey, Illinois. She attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville, Il, where she completed an accounting program. She currently resides in Vandalia with her husband, Bryan, and their daughter Gia.

Jackie Robertson joined The Law Group in June, 2011, and serves as the firm's receptionist. Jackie received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.

She and her husband, J.D., have two children, Stuart and Sadie. The Robertsons reside in Cowden, Illinois.

Donna joined The Law Group in December, 2012. She is the firm's receptionist for the Vandalia office. Donna graduated from Ramsey High School.

She and her husband, Brent, have three children, Ashley, Brooke and Paige. The Thull's reside in Ramsey, Illinois.

Erika joined The Law Group in 2012. She serves as a file clerk for firm.

Erika attends Kaskaskia College, working towards a degree in radiology. She is a member of the college pep band.

Kristen began working at The Law Group in November of 2012. She acts as the firm’s head file clerk. She is responsible for filing and other firm administrative duties.

Kristen graduated from Clinton High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Human and Educational Services from Illinois State University. She lives in Vandalia with her husband, Jordan

Denise became a part-time employee of The Law Group in September of 2011. She has over twenty years of experience as a full time employee of the Effingham Soil and Water Conservation District. At The Law Group, Denise is the custodian responsible for the Effingham office.

Denise and her husband, Kevin, reside in rural Dieterich with their three children, Danielle, Desteny and Kory.
